File menu

Command name Description Shortcut
New Window Opens a new window, showing the home page. Press [Command] - N.
Open File Opens a local file. Press [Command] - O.
Open Location Opens an address on the Internet. Press [Command] - L.
Close Closes the active window. Click the close box in the upper-left corner of the window, or press [Command] - W.
Close All Closes all windows.
Save As Saves the current page to a file. Press [Command] - S.
Get Info Shows the name, Internet address, comments, and visited dates of the selected favorite or history item. Press [Command] - I.
Import Imports an HTML document into the Favorites list.
Export Exports the Favorites list or History list.
Page Setup Changes the page setup for printing.
Print Prints the current page. Press [Command] - P.
Quit Closes all open windows and the program. Press [Command] - Q.

Edit menu

Command name Description Shortcut
Cut Removes the current selection and copies it onto the Clipboard. Press [Command] - X.
Copy Copies the current selection onto the Clipboard. Press [Command] - C.
Paste Inserts the contents of the Clipboard into the selected location. Press [Command] - V.
Clear Removes the current selection without copying onto the Clipboard.
Select All Selects all the text on the current page. Press [Command] - A.
Find Searches the current page for text. Press [Command] - F.
Find Again Searches again for the same text. Press [Command] - G.
Preferences Opens the Preferences dialog box where you can change the options for Internet Explorer. Click the Preferences button on the Button bar.

View menu

Command name Description Shortcut
Button Bar Shows or hides the Button bar, which contains shortcut buttons for frequently used menu items.
Address Bar Shows or hides the Address bar, which contains a field for typing in Internet addresses.
Status Bar Shows or hides the Status bar, which shows the destination of the link the mouse pointer is over, status of the currently loaded page, or a description of the Button bar on which the mouse pointer is over.
Favorites Bar Shows or hides the Favorites bar.
Text Size Increases or decreases the font size. Click the Larger button or Smaller button on the Button bar.
Font Encoding Changes the character set for the current page.
Stop Loading Stops opening a file. Click the Stop button on the Button bar or press [Command]- period.
Refresh Refreshes the contents of the current page. Click the Refresh button on the Button bar or press [Command] - R.
Load Images Loads images for the current page. Press [Command] - I.
Java Messages Opens the Java Messages window.
Source Displays HTML source for the current page.

Back Opens the previous page. Click the Back button on the Button bar or press [Command] - [.
Forward Opens the next page. Click Forward on the Button bar or press [Command] - ].
Home Page Opens the home page. Press the Home button on the Button bar.
Search the Internet Opens the search page. Click the Search button on the Button bar
Open History Opens the History window. Press [Command] - H.

Favorites menu

Command name Description Shortcut
Add Page to Favorites Adds the current page to the Favorites list. Press [Command] - D.
Open Favorites Opens the Favorites window. Click the Favorites button on the Button bar
New Folder Adds a new folder to the Favorites list. Press [Command] - N. This shortcut is only available when the Favorites window is active.
New Favorite Adds a new item to the Favorites list. Press [Command] - K.
New Divider Adds a new divider to the Favorites list.
